Limits to Growth

I've previously written about working in the Tech industry. That if I was entering the workforce today, working in Tech would be near the bottom of my list.

One of the reasons is the industries obsession with constant growth. This is especially prevalent in startups. You're always one bad quarter away from potentially losing your job. This is a problem across capitalism. The line must always go up. It's not sustainable.

I recently came across this fantastic podcast series about a 1972 book called "The Limits of Growth". It resulted from a think talk made up of students and professors from MIT. They had created a model that predicted that the world as we know it now would collapse within 50-100 years.

I highly recommend giving the three episode series a listen.
